JBDF, Japan Ballroom Dance Federation refused a young top amateur dancer to participate the amateur ballroom section in the Super Japan Cup because his receiving lesson fees for teaching dancing (as a part-time teacher in limited hours) is deemed violation of the JBDF regulation. Many amateur dancers do teach dancing in Japan and worldwide.
JBDF insists that receiving money by teaching or dancing is "an act allowed only for professionals." So amateur competitors must not. There is increasing fear among professionals that they are losing their students and income in the rapidly declining ballroom in the country. Maybe that's one of the major reasons or maybe not. dunno :)
WDC and JBDF reach historic agreement guaranteeing freedom to compete for all dancers WDCとJBDFは全てのダンサーが自由に競技できることを保証するという 歴史的な同意に達しました。 そんな時期に日本だからー海外とは違うんだからーと言ってていいだろか？ all events will now be run under WDC rules and have full WDC Super Series ranking and awards status. すべてのイベントはWDCのルールにのっとり催され WDCのランキングや入賞状況が反映されます。
